Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival is almost here. In Chinese, it is called 中秋节 zhōng qiū jié, although Kan Tang folks may refer to it as 月饼节 yuè...
We often say "jiat kan tang" to refer to people who are more English-educated to the detriment of their Chinese proficiency. Kan tang (literally potato), staple food of Westerners, seems to symbolise that lack of competence & confidence with the Chinese language system. Hence I'm using it as the name of the blog, with the logo showing french fries (the most "westernised potato" in town).
This blog aims to repackage chunky pieces of Chinese contents (= potato) into bite-sized portions (= fries) to simplify & stimulate learning.
